We built this shower in one of our new homes on the Peninsula area near the Lake of Egypt. This shower has a clean, modern look, with white subway tiles accented by small hexagonal tiles in the shower shelf and floor. As you can see, the tile floor of the whole bathroom is also hexagon shaped. The dark, square shower head adds to the modern, sleek look.
Here are some before pictures below. You can see the plumbing in the walls.
Before putting up the tile, we first put a moisture-resistant tile backer board called DensShield on the walls.
The half walls of the shower we made with cinder blocks before covering them in tile.
Here I am (Shawn) laying the tile on the walls of the shower.
Here’s the beginnings of the tile floor of the bathroom.
Here’s the shower almost finished!
And for the finishing touch, the shower head!
