We recently built this finished basement. This basement is complete with a wet bar and a living area with an entertainment center. Let’s take a closer look at some of features of the space.
The Entertainment Center
We built this custom entertainment center to combine functionality and a clean, modern look. The centerpiece is a flat-screen TV mounted on white paneling, with a simple design that adds character to the room. Below the TV is a fireplace, adding both warmth and style. The open wood shelving on each side of the TV offers plenty of space for storage or display.
The butcher-block style countertops showcased here on either side of the TV were crafted by our new woodworking business, JackBuilt Woodcrafts. Using Douglas Fir, we utilized our state-of-the-art CNC machine to precisely cut each piece. After cutting, we carefully planed and shaped the wood for a smooth finish, ensuring each piece fit perfectly. The countertops were then stained, sealed, and then installed on-site. The side shelves pictured were made using the same process but refined to a thinner 1″ thickness, offering an elegant contrast to the substantial 4″ thick mantle piece.
Sliding Barn Doors
The room features sliding barn doors, set on a black rails, adding a rustic touch while keeping the overall design simple and functional. The result is a practical, well-built piece that complements the room’s overall look and layout.
The Wet Bar
The wet bar focuses on both style and utility. It features dark blue cabinetry with a clean, simple design. The upper cabinets provide ample storage, while the centerpiece includes an integrated wine rack, crafted from natural wood to add a touch of contrast.
The countertop offers a clean, durable workspace, with a small sink and built-in wine fridge on the right for easy access to beverages. The setup is perfect for entertaining, offering both functionality and visual appeal. The layout is designed to fit seamlessly into the room, utilizing the available space efficiently.
With recessed lighting to highlight the area, this wet bar is a modern, well-thought-out addition to the home.
The Stair Railing
The natural wood finish of the stair railing matches the barn doors and entertainment center, creating a cohesive look throughout the space. The consistent wood tones and rustic style tie the room together while maintaining a warm, modern feel.
